Machine Vision in Everyday Life: Playful Interactions with Visual Technologies in Digital Art, Games, Narratives and Social Media is a five year project that explores how new algorithmic images are affecting us as a society and as individuals. (Read more about the project here.)
In order to create awareness and a social media presence for the project, I created a logo and a visual identity that embodies Machine Vision’s research and focus areas: technology (yet not technical), facial recognition, culture, art, creativity, warmth and humanity.

As the Machine Vision project progressed and expanded, so did the need for profile material. I got to create stickers, totes and also a fresh new sign in brushed aluminum for the project’s headquarters.

As an alternative to business cards, I designed postcards with machine vision technologies. They serve as memorable giveaways for exhibitions, festivals, workshops, lectures, etc.

An important part of the project is collecting research of machine vision
technologies in a database:

In order to explain and visualize the variety of technologies in the database, I designed individual (and cute) pictograms for each technology. These are quite handy at workshops, seminars and in other educational settings.
